Get Plenty of Rest
Before you take on any diet or exercise endeavors make sure to get plenty of sleep. It can become too difficult to have the energy for exercise if you do not get enough sleep.
Plan Ahead
Prepare yourself and try to schedule your work out days in advance. Make a grocery list or preview restaurant menus before your visit. This will help keep you on track and focused on your goals.
Be Realistic
Make goals that are obtainable within the allotted time. Healthy goals that are not too ambitious tend to be successful. You can always push yourself a little more or even extend your diet plan. Baby steps are better than no steps.
Lifestyle Friendly
If you never were an early morning runner or deep sea swimmer, this is not the time to start. Keep your exercise and diet plans closely related to your existing lifestyle. It is good to try new things, but within reason and familiarity. A better idea is to do things that have always been of interest to you. Cycling, swimming, walking, hiking, etc are very common easy transitions.
Reward Yourself
Have an award for yourself as a pat on the back for accomplishing your goal. To really challenge yourself, purchase a summer dress, swimsuit or pair of jeans in advance. Have a look at the item as you plan your week. The excitement of seeing yourself in that special item will help you stay focused.
