Swimwear Size - Get the Perfect Fit

Ever see someone at the beach and their top looks painfully small? Or what about the lady who cant seem to walk about comfortably as she tugs at her rising bottoms.

Swimsuits do not cover much to begin with so having an improper fitted swimsuit will only increase your chances of an embarrassing malfunction.

I recently watched an infomercial that said always buy your swimsuit one size larger than your dress or jeans size. That information is inaccurate and that  approach should not be taken when buying a swimsuit. The only truth to that statement is if you are between sizes, it is generally best to select the size bigger.
Here are some general tips and some tried and true advice to help select your proper swimsuit size.
A. Sizes do vary with different designers and styles.
B. One piece swimsuits should best be sized to fit your bottom because usually the top portion has more adjustable options.
C. If you have larger proportions, be sure to seek swimsuits that are designed for your body type. For example; larger chest should avoid flimsy tops with little material and support.
D. Your top is too small if: Your swimsuit top rises up from the bottom and cuts into your breast. Your breast pop out from the top or the sides of the swimsuit.
E. Your top is too big if: If you look down and see your breast through the opening of your swimsuit top where your breast should be filling the cup. You have to constantly pull your strapless top up because the back keeps sliding down.
F. Your bottoms are too big if: Your swimsuit sags or gets droopy in the butt after it is wet. If you adjust your side ties and still can not get your bottoms to snug your body.
G. Your bottoms are too small if: The swimsuit does not properly cover your crotch. The swimsuit bottom rides up your butt crack and cuts into your groin. Your butt is poking out from the top of the swimsuit bottom.

When you try on your swimsuit do not just go for how it looks, but more importantly, go for how it fits. Typically if the swimsuit does not fit properly it will not look good on you. Have fun trying on swimsuits and keep an open mind.  Try on swimsuits that you are attracted to, but if you are actually going to get into the water then be practical.
